Caring for our Jewellery

We want you to be able to enjoy wearing our costume jewellery for many years to come, and to help keep it looking pristine we have put together some tips for you to observe.

  • Avoid exposing your costume jewellery to perfume, hairspray, body sprays, chlorinated or salt water and household cleaning products, all of which can cause discolouration.
  • Keep chains fastened to avoid tangling.
  • Avoid getting threaded pearl, semi-precious gemstone, or bead costume jewellery wet.
  • Remove your costume jewellery while on the beach, in bed, playing sport, swimming or doing housework and gardening.
  • Do not store your costume jewellery in direct sunlight.
  • Protect your costume jewellery from tangling or scratching by storing each piece separately.

Semi-Precious Gemstone Jewellery & Sterling Silver

  • Polish Sterling Silver jewellery regularly to keep it shining, and tarnish at bay, with a silver polishing cloth (available from most jewellery outlets).
  • Wipe semi-precious gemstones with a clean, moist, soft cotton cloth.
  • Dry with a soft, clean, absorbent, lint-free cloth (muslin is ideal).
  • Leave the piece on a towel for an extended period of time to ensure it is completely dry.
  • Never use an ultrasonic cleaner and never use ammonia or any chemical solution.
  • Never submerge opaque gemstones in any liquid as they can be porous and may absorb chemicals, even soap, which can build up inside the stone and discolour it.
  • Never expose your sterling silver jewellery to extreme heat.

Costume Jewellery

  • Use a very mild detergent and water solution, then rinse with clean water and dry off.
  • Leave the piece on a towel for an extended period of time to ensure it is completely dry.
  • Shine crystals, beads, glass pearls and chains with a soft, clean, lint-free cloth (muslin is ideal).
  • Never use abrasive cleaning solutions or cloths.

By following these easy tips your costume jewellery should continue to look as good as when you bought it.
