Our selection of Murano earrings showcases the finest examples of the Venetian glassblower's art. They follow in a long tradition of highly skilled craftsmanship that dates back as far as the 10th century.
Over the intervening centuries since the first Murano artisans began producing their distinctive glass jewellery, the craft has evolved and developed to embrace a variety of different methods and techniques which few other jewellers can match.
One of the most distinctive features of Murano earrings is their striking use of colour. To achieve the desired effect, dichroic glass is often used.
This type of glass - created through a highly technical process that involves building up micro-thin layers of metal oxide on the surface of the glass - creates a scintillating effect which causes the piece to subtly shift in colour depending on the angle from which it is seen.
Due to the complexities of the firing process, no piece of dichroic glass is ever the same, making each item produced in this way absolutely unique.
All of our Murano earrings are handmade by expert Venetian glassblowers, utilising materials and techniques that have been developed and honed over generations. From intricate lampwork creations to understated yet charming glass drop designs, we are confident that our collection has something to suit every taste.
To complete our Murano glass jewellery range, we also have a comprehensive selection of Murano glass necklaces and pendants which share the high standards of craftsmanship and aesthetic appeal as our earrings.
